We want older adults to feel confident by taking courses among their peers. That's why we offer a series of courses open only to 55+ participants. Check below for our course offerings!

55+ Cycling Skills (4 hours)

Older adults

Upcoming courses: 

  • 55+ Women-only Cycling Skills Tuesday September 22 & Wednesday September 23, 5:30-7:30 pm (participants attend both dates). Thunder Bay 55+ Centre (outdoors). Register here.

Who should take this course? 55+ adults who want to ride more on multi-use trails, bike lanes, or roads with light to moderate traffic.

Skills or equipment that I need: Participants must know how to ride a bicycle and should bring their bike, helmet, water, and snacks.

55+ Tire-changing Workshop (3 hours)


Upcoming courses: 

  • 55+ Women-only Tire Changing and Basic Bike Maintenance Sunday October 4, 2-5 pm. Thunder Bay 55+ Centre (outdoors). Register here

Who should take this course: 55+ women who want to learn to change a bike tube, boot a tire, and conduct safety checks on their own equipment.

What equipment do I need: Please bring a bicycle. Tools will be provided; however, please bring your own tools if you have them to help us minimize shared equipment.
