Women’s Fall Cycling Series a success

Women’s Fall Cycling Series a success

Like with many things, COVID slammed on the V-brakes bringing EcoSuperior’s Safe Cycling programming to a dead stop for a year and a half. Because the Safe Cycling team is so incredible, they rallied together and offered a series of online webinars that were really well attended. As well as adapting school resources to an online format.

So when the restrictions lifted in the fall of 2021, we were ready to increase the cadence! The highlight of the fall season was our very successful Women’s Fall Cycling Series.

Bike Washing @ North McIntyre Rec Centre

Bike Mechanics @ Community Spokes

Recreational Road Skills @ North McIntyre Rec Centre

Rural Group Ride @ North McIntyre Rec Centre

The women who attended ranged in age from 17 to 69 years old. It was an empowering environment to be a part of!

Huge thanks is do to Janet Sillman, a Safe Cycling instructor who developed the curriculum and was the driving motivational force that brought these workshops to life. From this series, we heard the communities desire for more bike mechanic workshops!

Working with Community Spokes, EcoSuperior is offering a series of Bike Mechanic workshops. Our first 2 beginner workshops filled up, and our upcoming Intermediate workshop (happening December 4th) is full too! There is a waitlist enabled, so if you’re interested please register on the waitlist at ecosuperior.eventbrite.org.

Now that we’re in full cruise mode, I cannot wait to roll out our programming for 2022!
