COMMUTER CYCLING SKILLS (4 HOURS)

Who should take this course? Public courses are available to adults who want to ride more on multi-use trails, bike lanes, or roads with light to moderate traffic. Private courses can be booked for adults and/or older children in grades 7+.

Skills or equipment that I need: Participants must know how to ride a bicycle and should bring their bike, helmet, water, and snacks. Rental bikes are available for a fee. Agenda and Learning objectives

CLEANING YOUR BIKE (2 HOURS)

Who should take this course? This course is great for people who want to learn very basic bike maintenance, commuters, mountain bikers, and anyone with a dirty bicycle! 

Skills or equipment that I need: Bring your bicycle. Participants will receive a take-away cleaning kit with most of the cleaning tools and products they will need for the course and during future cycling seasons. 

Agenda & learning objectives: While the whole bike will be covered, the course will have a strong focus on cleaning the small parts of the drivechain (chain, gears, derailleurs) in order to extend the life of your bike’s parts.

INTRODUCTION TO WINTER RIDING (2-4 HOURS)

Who should take this course? This course is for people who want to try winter riding for the first time or who want to improve their winter riding knowledge and skills. 

Skills or equipment that I need: Please bring water and snacks. Although we will not ride at the first session, it is helpful if you can bring your bike, helmet, and winter cycling clothes in order to assist with demonstrations.  

Agenda & learning objectives: This course will cover winter riding gear, equipment, and route planning. After the snow falls, a second date will be added to practice skills during a 2-hour group ride.
